ABOUT
I am Sista Beverley and the idea for Soul Rebel was born after travelling to Jamaica in my 30’s. After spending time in Jamaica , something happened to my heart and soul. I felt alive, inspired, at home, calm and at peace and I fell in love with the island , culture and her people.
His Majesty , Emperor Haile Selassie called to me one evening in a meditation around 2006 where I knew I had to had to uphold the tradition of having my dreadlocks to show my devotion to His Majesty , Rastafari.
The Rastafarian colours, the symbolism of the colours and the holistic, clean way of living that Rastafarians showed me , spoke to my heart and soul like no other way of being and I knew at some point in the future I would make my wish come true and make Rastafarian merchandise more accessible in the U.K. , especially in my home town of Newcastle upon Tyne .
For many years I have been out at gigs and festivals setting up pop up shops and supporting reggae artists with their merchandise .
The aim is to spread a message that we are all One People and to show Love and Unity to one another.
Keep an eye on the social media, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok to see which festivals and gigs i’ll be at. Hope to see you there!
I gave the name “Soul Rebel” to my business because of how my Soul resonates with Rastafari and I have always been a bit of a rebel . On top of that one of my favourite Bob Marley songs is Soul Rebel .
I hope you enjoy shopping here and I give thanks to the Most High that you have chosen Soul Rebel.
Thank you for wearing your Rasta colours with a livity, pride and a consciousness of Rastafari.
One Love
Beverley
